On 11 – 12 October, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) organized an experience-sharing visit to the Republic of Moldova for the delegation from Armenia. The visit was organized in the framework of the EU - funded “Support to Migration and Border Management in Armenia” (MIBMA) project, implemented by ICMPD. The aim of the visit was exchange views in implementation of re-admission and visa facilitation agreements; practices related to re-integration of returning migrants; mechanisms toward development of relations with diaspora; and labour/ circular migration schemes.
The Armenian delegation consisted of the representatives from the Armenian state agencies.

On 3 October 2016, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed a project cooperation agreement for the project "Support to Migration and Border Management in Armenia" (MIBMA) in Yerevan.

On 28 September, ICMPD organised a workshop on the European fingerprint system for asylum seekers and irregular migrants (EURODAC). The aim of the workshop was to introduce EURODAC to representatives of the Migration Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Police and the National Security Service.

On 17 September 2016, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), within the framework of the EU-funded project “Support to Migration and Border Management in Armenia” (MIBMA), organised a photo exhibition “Migration Moves” at the Aram Khachaturian museum. The authors of the photos are prominent Armenian photographers Mr. Vigen Mnoyan and Mr. German Avagyan.

On 13-14 September 2016, within the framework of project ‘Support to Migration and Border Management in Armenia’ (MIBMA), 16 journalists from various national and local media outlets took part in a two-day media tour to Syunik region to investigate and report on the impact of migration among communities and families. The journalists visited Gorhayk, Sarnakunk, Shaki and Khndzoresk villages and Goris town.

On 26 and 27 July 2016, ,the International Center of Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) together with the State Migration Service organized a two-day workshop on Development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) on protection of Vulnerable Groups of Asylum Seekers in Yerevan, Armenia. The aim of the workshop was to assist the relevant national agencies in developing a draft Government Decree approving the procedure for appointing a representative for unaccompanied minors and other vulnerable groups.

On the 3rd of September, ICMPD organized a seminar for journalists on labour migration as well as on amendments to the RA Law “On foreigners”. The seminar was attended by approximately 20 journalists from various media outlets, including “Aravot” newspaper, Public Radio of Armenia, A1+, “Zhoghovurd” newspaper, newsbook.am, jam-news.am, and many others. All participating journalists report on social issues, including migration.

The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), within the framework of EU-funded «Support to Migration and Border Management in Armenia» project, together with UNICEF in Armenia, Repat Armenia Foundation, «Public Diplomacy» NGO, Armenian Caritas and «Save the Children International» Armenia Representative Office, is happy to announce «Suitcase 2016» annual journalism contest on migration and border management issues.
