The first Steering Group Meeting of MIBMA project took place on 20 April 2016 in Yerevan. The Project Steering Group is an external project governance structure, consisting of permanent representatives from EU Delegation, the Government of Armenia and ICMPD as well as invited observers from EU Member States, EU agencies and international organizations.
The meeting was opened by Mr Borut Erzen, ICMPD Senior Programme Manager and Mr Hoa-Binh Adjemian, Head of Cooperation Section of EU Delegation to Armenia. Mr. Carel Hofsta, Team Leader presented key achievements and findings of the inception phase, following several bilateral discussions with national and international stakeholders while Ms. Adiba Asadova, Project Manager, gave an overview of the project communication and visibility actions.
During the meeting, the project roadmap for upcoming activities was agreed with all participants noting the importance of close cooperation and coordination throughout the project implementation phase.
The meeting was attended by representatives of RA Police, RA National Security Service and RA Ministry of Economy, EU delegation to Armenia, ICMPD, EU Member States, UNDP, IOM, UNHCR and Office Français de l’Immigration et de l’Intégration.
Following the meeting, everyone was invited to the inauguration ceremony of the newly established office in Yerevan. Mr. Ezen noted that the office will support MIBMA project activities and strengthen ICMPD’s presence in Armenia.
