On 01-04 October, ICMPD in Armenia, with the purpose to strengthen capacities of border management staff in document security, invited ICMPD experts Monica Weber and Andre ten Caat to conduct the second Document Security training at Bagratashen, Gogavan and Bavra border control points, as well as at National Security Service Border Troops headquarters for the staff of Zvartnots BCP.
The idea of organising this second field training was again aimed at involving as many BCP staff members of the 1st line of control as possible, including, in addition to officers/shift leaders, newly appointed controllers. The training contributed to raise awareness of security features of travel documents, examples of counterfeiting and the modern methods of their detection and allow piloting of training skills gained after the training of trainers by selected national trainer.
The event involved more than 80 Border Troops staff, both warrant officers and officers/shift leaders and fully met the counterpart's expectations in terms of the content, structure and planning. ICMPD experts were supported by two senior BG trainers who also conducted technical level sessions on security features and common forgeries.
